Juana Gaviria is a multidisciplinary artist who is influenced by her work as an architect and furniture designer. She received her degree in Fine Arts and Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design in 2000. After RISD, she worked in various Architecture firms in Los Angeles, California before retuning to Bogota to establish a design and furniture workshop under her name. Her ingenuos furniture pieces were published in numerous Colombian design magazines. After a decade of working with furniture and lamps she decided to move her atención to restore a colonial house in Barichara, Santander which was featured in cover of Revista Axxis in 2012 # 227. In 2014 she decides to focus on Visual Art thanks to the encouragement of Curator Ramiro Camelo and participates en ArtChico 2015. In 2016 she participates in Escuela Flora under Jose Ignacio Roca and her work was exhibited various times at the Floras Open Studios. She was chosen for the first ARCOT and showed two art works in Tokio. In 2017 she exhibited several times in Rincon Projects, and was selected for The Feria del Millon and for the Spotlights in Barcu.

Juana explores the relationship between shaped canvases, embedded planes and color. Currently she is experimenting with geometrical kites in an effort to make art recreational.
